District 3 Supervisor Candidate's Debate - June 16

Join us for our first candidate debate, Monday June 16 at the Holiday Inn on Van Ness between California and Pine, Lower Level. Arrive by 6:40PM for sign-in, opening remarks and a crisp start to the debate at 7PM. The debate will continue until 8:30 after which we'll have an open forum, meet and greet half-hour. 9 of the 11 registered candidates will be participating.

Why attend this debate?
Because our current Supervisor, Aaron Peskin will be termed out in January. We must select a replacement in the November election. Remember, we have ranked choice voting for this position (see www.sfelections.org/demo). This means that you will have the opportunity to choose three candidates, in order of your preference, for this position. How do you pick three candidates? You hear them address the most important issues at the same time in the same environment - At MPNA's June 16 Debate!

Our City, District 3 and our Neighborhood are undergoing many changes and facing many challenges. We need the right leader representing District 3 in City Hall. We need a representative who understands the problems and concerns of our area and has a practical, skillful and effective way of addressing them. Many neighbors have submitted their questions and concerns to our Debate Planning Team. We've crafted them into topics and questions. What are the answers? Find out Monday evening at the Debate.

What are you concerned about?
Safety and crime abatement? Cleanliness and beautification? Having a family-friendly place to raise your kids, run your dogs? Are you concerned about the City’s approach to our homeless issues and their effect on our neighborhood? Does Affordable Housing keep you up at night? TIC conversions? Is the City effectively managing the equation of allowing appropriate development while maintaining our historic buildings and resources? What about Open & Green Spaces in our neighborhood? Are you concerned about how our neighborhood-serving small businesses will survive? Our hardware stores? Our shoe cobblers? Our bakeries? Our delis? Our locally-owned small grocery stores? Our independent bookstores? Those businesses that make our neighborhood so interesting, so San Francisco!

If your answer is YES to any of the above questions, we know where you need to be on June 16; at the Middle Polk Neighborhood Association's District 3 Supervisor Candidate Debate!
